Job Title: Inventory Specialist - OR
Department: Perioperative Services
Location: Unity Hospital, 1555 Long Pond Rd. Rochester, NY
Hours Per Week: Per Diem (Hours as needed)
Schedule: 8 hrs per shift, 7am - 3pm, 8am - 4 pm or 11am - 7pm.
SUMMARY
Oversees inventories and cycle counts, coordinates activity of computerized inventory control system. Responsible for maintaining adequate supply levels for all operating room supply requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates needs to material supervisor and assists with obtaining supplies/equipment from other health care facilities as necessary.
Performs daily par level counts for non stock and distribution items, checks expiration dates. Enters requisitions for needed items
Maintains product availability while recognizing and reducing inventory as indicated. Interfaces with outside vendors as appropriate to assure adequate inventory on hand at all times.
Responsible for receiving and storage of supplies, to include rotating stock and refilling shelves as appropriate.
Plans, conducts and oversees inventories and researches variances
Maintains communication as requested with purchasing, accounts payable and materials management. Tracks estimated/actual delivery dates of supplies. Immediately informs Material Supervisor of possible issues relating to out stocks and back orders
Actively participates in committees as assigned.
Coordinates core computerized inventory management system, and implementation of Lawson. Responsible to produce inventory/supply data or report as requested by Operating Room Director.
Performs systematic checks. Works with product vendors to keep abreast of changes to health care related products, making necessary substitutions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree Business/Computer Science preferred.
- 3 - 5 years experience in health care inventory operations, including materials management systems preferred.
- Computer software applications for inventory control.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
