Unity Home Health Services is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Nursing to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our agency. The Director of Nursing will ensure high-quality patient care, maintain regulatory compliance, and foster a collaborative, efficient, and supportive working environment for all clinical staff.
We are looking for an individual who has grown from compassionate Registered Nurse to proven leader—someone who is dedicated, organized, and committed to excellence in home health care.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, supervise, and evaluate all nursing personnel (RNs, LPNs, HHAs, and clinical staff)
- Lead workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and staffing procedures
- Establish departmental objectives, short- and long-term goals, and performance expectations
- Oversee and coordinate patient admission processes and nursing care procedures
- Develop, implement, and enforce clinical policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards
- Maintain and monitor departmental budgets and expenditures
- Identify, address, and resolve operational or clinical deficiencies
- Manage and safeguard patient records and documentation procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to improve workflow and service delivery
- Prepare reports and communicate effectively with executive and upper management
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Director of Nursing, Nursing Supervisor, or similar leadership role
- Strong understanding of home health or healthcare facility operations
- In-depth knowledge of clinical standards, federal/state regulations, and quality metrics (KPI/KQIs)
- Basic understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and resource management
- Strong leadership abilities with a track record of developing and mentoring staff
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and stress-management abilities
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio
- CPR certification required
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred
