About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, advanced patient care skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly acute environment. This role provides professional nursing care to critically ill young adult, adult, and elderly patients using the nursing process and established care standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Assessment
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and continuous re-assessments per policy.
- Deliver high-quality care for critically ill patients, including:
- Airway management (basic & advanced)
- Pain management
- Cardiac monitoring & cardiac care
- Post-operative vascular surgery recovery
- Neurological, neurovascular, orthopedic, GI, pulmonary, renal, and skin care
- Enteral nutrition
- Central venous catheter care & maintenance
- Specialized IV drip titration, IV therapy, IVADD
- Transfusion therapy & invasive monitoring
Clinical Expertise
- Manage Code Blue events (inpatient, May Tower, Pediatrics).
- Assist physicians with specialized procedures.
- Utilize specialized equipment for critically ill patients.
- Provide sedation and waived testing as needed.
- Troubleshoot clinical and equipment issues.
- Support Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate, timely nursing documentation including patient history, condition, treatments, and responses.
- Communicate professionally with patients and families, ensuring dignity, respect, and confidentiality.
- Identify and support psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
- Involve patients and families in individualized plans of care; update/revise daily.
Leadership & Team Support
- Supervise and monitor the work of other healthcare staff.
- Function as a preceptor for new employees.
- Serve as team leader and professional role model.
- Respond promptly to changing workloads to maintain productivity.
Safety, Compliance & Operations
- Adhere to policies on infection control, safety, dress code, and performance standards.
- Maintain and operate patient care equipment; ensure adequate supply stock.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Assist in housekeeping tasks and patient transportation when needed.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to perform under stress.
Education & CertificationsRequired:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
- 5 years of critical care experience
- ACLS (within 90 days of hire/orientation completion)
- NIH Stroke Scale (within 90 days of hire/orientation completion)
- EKG certification
- FIT Test Clearance
- Travel nursing experience
Preferred:
- TNCC certification

Pay: $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
