Role Description
- Financial Oversight
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, billing and cash flow
- Monitor accounting data to produce financial statements for external sources
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Collaborate with department managers to analyze weekly cash activity
- Assist in monthly closing procedures ensuring accuracy in general ledger activity including adjusting journal entries, accruals, inter-company transactions, and job cost allocations
- File Sales State Tax
- Compliance & Auditing
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, laws, and internal policies
- Analyze payroll liabilities to ensure compliance with unions, Federal and State agencies
- Provide documentation for annual audits and reviews
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Collaborate with project controls to adhere to strict reporting deadlines
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Assign projects and ensure accuracy and compliance
- Improve systems and initiate corrective actions
🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Experience in construction accounting preferred
- 5–8 years of experience in accounting or financial management2
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel including pivot tables and vlookup
- High attention to detail and analytical skills
