Respite Provider – Unity Developmental Disabilities Care Center (UDDCC)

Location: Omaha, NE
Pay: $16–$20/hour (depending on experience & client level) or flat rate if care provided for 24h or more

About the Job

UDDCC is hiring Respite Providers to support children and adults with developmental disabilities or aged & disabled needs. This role gives temporary relief to caregivers by providing supervision, safety monitoring, and companionship.

Respite can take place in the client's home, in the provider's approved home, or in community settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support during caregiver absence
• Follow safety plans, behavior plans, and care instructions
• Assist with basic daily living needs (no medical care unless trained)
• Engage individuals in simple activities, games, or community outings
• Document your hours and notes accurately
• Report concerns or incidents to your supervisor
• Provide safe transportation if allowed (mileage reimbursement available)

Requirements

• Must be 19 years or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle (if transporting)
• Must pass background checks (Central Registry, APS/CPS, fingerprinting)
• Reliable, patient, and able to follow care instructions

Required Training (Provided if Needed)

• CPR & First Aid
• Mandt / Safety Intervention
• Abuse & Neglect Prevention
• HIPAA
• Medication Aide (if giving meds)
• Child Passenger Safety (if transporting children)
