This position is full time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. 

We offer up to 4 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am - 5:00  pm EST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.  

     

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Handle inbound and make outbound calls to schedule appointments for patients within American Health Network's specialty practices 
  • Enter information into patient charts and send tasks to clinical sites 
  • Review and check patient insurance eligibility 
  • Ensure patient confidentiality with the handling of all patient health information and medical records 
  • Communicate all progress and issues with the call center management team 
  • Scan and import documents into patient charts
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2 years of experience working in a healthcare OR a customer service position 
  • 2 years of experience in a role requiring clear, positive, and cooperative verbal and written communication skills, as information will be entered into patient records 
  • Experience with computers and Windows based programs
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

     

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Call center experience
  • Experience with call deescalation
  • EPIC experience

     

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

     

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to own tasks and follow a schedule

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 - $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
