A global Japanese manufacturer specializing in premium water treatment and filtration equipment is seeking a Service Manager to support nationwide service operations in the United States.

The U.S. office located in Torrance, California plays a central role in coordinating technical service activities across the country while working closely with the Japan headquarters in a bilingual environment.

This role offers an opportunity to lead service technicians, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to customer satisfaction within an international organization.


Position Overview

The Service Manager leads technical service operations by combining hands-on technical understanding with team leadership and cross-functional coordination.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in equipment maintenance, field service environments, or technical service supervision who are ready to take on a leadership role.


Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance to service technicians
  • Support troubleshooting of escalated technical issues
  • Maintain working knowledge of cleaning, maintenance, and service procedures
  • Participate in hands-on support when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with standardized service processes

Team Management

  • Supervise service technicians across the United States
  • Conduct performance reviews and coaching
  • Maintain productivity and team morale

Service Operations

  • Oversee scheduling and service documentation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies
  • Improve workflow efficiency and service delivery quality

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales Operations and internal departments
  • Coordinate with Japan headquarters in a bilingual environment

Customer Support

  • Handle escalated service-related customer concerns
  • Maintain high service quality standards


Requirements

Required

  • Business-level Japanese
  • Business-level English
  • Experience in technical service, equipment maintenance, or related environments
  • Ability to supervise or guide technical staff
  • Strong communication and coordination skills

Preferred

  • Spanish language ability
  • Leadership experience in technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


Work Environment

  • Technical service environment with operational equipment
  • Exposure to cleaning agents and service machinery
  • Includes standing, walking, and occasional lifting
  • Interaction with material handling equipment such as forklifts may occur
