GEOINT Systems Engineer-Expert Level

Key Responsibilities

Systems Engineering and Requirements

• Assists the Government in directing requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG) and Federal Agencies.
• Capture and translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and technical solutions.
• Advise the Government on proposed solution design changes based on requirements analysis and emerging technologies.
  
  

Integration

• Lead Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Actions (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments.
• Advise customers on strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.
• Provide technical expertise related to vision, strategy, plans, mission needs, requirements, processes, and capability development.
• Integrate multiple systems across organizational, agency, department, and governmental/national boundaries.
  
  

Program Leadership

• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to contractor engineering teams.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of Senior, Mid-, and Junior level Systems Engineers.
• Apply expertise to complex, multi-stakeholder programs supporting mission-critical GEOINT capabilities.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline; or equivalent additional experience (4 years with no degree or 2 years with a non-STEM degree).
• 18 years of experience working in government or industry in relevant areas, including DoD/IC acquisition processes, requirements processes, PPBES processes, or systems engineering of large, complex Systems of Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments operating in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.
• Strong understanding and demonstrated experience across the systems engineering lifecycle.
• Extensive experience preparing and delivering briefings, technical papers, or engineering-related presentations to senior Government and customer staff
• Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG enterprises.
• Previous NGA and/or NSG/ASG program or project experience.
• Proven ability to excel as a self-driven engineer working under light supervision and frequently with only high-level guidance for project needs.
• Previous IC or DoD program/project experience.
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI and successfully pass a polygraph.
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline.
• Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and languages.
• INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification.
• Membership or leadership participation in professional organizations such as:

• Extensive experience in Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT).
• Experience engineering solutions using cloud-based technologies.
• Experience engineering solutions employing Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial/Super Intelligence technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise in remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, or related disciplines.
