Chief Executive Officer - Regional

The United Way of Moscow & Latah County (ID) and The United Way of Whitman County (WA) are forming a strategic partnership to better create and deliver impact to the Palouse Region. The CEO will begin as single employee, support by regional staff (accounting, finance, technical support), supporting and growing the board of directors, fundraising, and directing the impacts of the organization.

The CEO oversees calendar, compliance, approvals, and generally manages the affairs of the organization for the Officers, Volunteers, and Board of Directors (BOD). The CEO is designated as primary non-officer signer for agreements, contracts and payments. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Administration/Governance/Operations (20%):

• Develop an annual calendar, prepare and maintain meeting materials and records.
• Create an annual budget for Board of Directors review and adoption.
• Maintain a 5-year strategic plan/overview for the organization, in partnership with the BOD.
• Work with board leadership on recruitment,retention, training, and development.
• Check mailbox, process checks, and manage financial tracking in CRM. 
• Track records and metrics for grant reporting.
• Oversee and support  staff:employee, intern, volunteer, or contractor.
• Coordinate with regional and national United Way partners and steward  relationships.

Development & Fundraising (50%):

• Work with the board to establish annual fundraising goals and benchmarks.  Establish an annual fundraising campaign plan and calendar to meet fundraising goals. 
• Coordinate and enhance workplace giving campaigns.
• Implement online, mail, and other direct fundraising campaigns throughout the year targeted at both existing and new donors.
• Seek out major donors, arrange meetings and leadership to foster relationships and giving.
• Grant research and writing in coordination with members of the BOD and contract staff.
• Establish donor recognition programs and support donor acknowledgement and tracking. 
• Oversee special events including;: establishing goals and budgets, ensuring the board has and assigns adequate resources, and posting event reporting.

Communications & Program Management (30%):

• Develop a Communications Annual Plan, outlining key initiatives and programs.
• Draft Organizational Annual Report for board review, approval, and community release.
• Maintain and update social media.
• Maintain, update, and increase the organization’s email and USPS mailing lists.
• Develop and distribute newsletters - electronic and/or physical.
• Maintain the website and streamline donation platforms.
• Work with graphic designers to ensure consistency and quality of visual messaging.
• Serve as a Community Ambassador throughout the region.
• Support the Board and committees in resource allocation to designated programs and initiatives.
