The **United for Families Program Manager** is a full-time position with

the Coalition to End Homelessness in Sedgwick County, a collaborative

initiative housed at United Way of the Plains that coordinates the local

homeless response system across Wichita and Sedgwick County. This role

provides leadership and support to a team of Housing Navigators who work

directly with families experiencing homelessness, helping remove

barriers and create pathways to stable, permanent housing.

The ideal candidate is a mission-driven professional who thrives on

serving others, building strong community partnerships, and turning

strategy into action. This position requires an exceptional communicator

with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex

data, lead a team effectively, and improve the efficiency of the crisis

response system. Leadership, initiative, optimism, strategic thinking,

and a commitment to advancing the common good are essential to success

in this role.

This position reports to the Director of Community Impact.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

The key responsibilities of the United for Families Program include, but

  • Supervise, coach, and support Family Housing Navigators to ensure

effective service delivery, professional development, and

achievement of program outcomes.

  • Monitor program performance, data quality, and compliance with grant

requirements, contract expectations, and best practices related to

homelessness prevention and housing stability.

  • Coordinate grant reporting, outcome tracking, budget monitoring, and

approval of housing assistance expenditures utilizing DCF TANF

funding.

  • Conduct intake, assessment, eligibility determination, and housing

stabilization planning with families experiencing housing

instability or homelessness.

  • Utilize diversion, homelessness prevention, shelter coordination,

and rapid re-housing strategies to assist families in achieving

housing stability.

  • Connect families to community resources and supportive services,

including employment, childcare, healthcare, and financial

assistance programs.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, case records, and data entry within

required databases and reporting systems.

  • Collaborate with landlords, shelters, service providers, funders,

and community partners to strengthen coordinated responses to family

homelessness.

  • Ensure services are delivered in a trauma-informed, strengths-based,

culturally responsive, and client-centered manner.

  • Participate in team meetings, case conferencing, and community

planning efforts while maintaining knowledge of housing resources,

benefits, and best practices in homelessness prevention and rapid

re-housing.
