PURPOSE:

The Corporate Partnerships Specialist is responsible for cultivating, growing, and stewarding strategic business partnerships that drive revenue and deepen community impact. This role designs and implements year-round engagement strategies that integrate workplace giving, volunteerism, and corporate investment, while serving as a primary connector between business partners and the Academies of Albuquerque initiative. The Corporate Partnerships Specialist manages a defined portfolio of corporate relationships, advances revenue growth, and designs meaningful experiences that strengthen long-term corporate commitment to United Way of North Central New Mexico.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Corporate Portfolio & Revenue Growth

  • Manage and grow a defined portfolio of corporate partners.
  • Develop annual business engagement plans for assigned accounts.
  • Drive workplace campaign revenue and leadership giving growth.
  • Identify and cultivate new business prospects.
  • Participate in quarterly campaign revenue health and risk reviews.
  • Maintain minimum retention and growth targets as defined annually.


Business Engagement & Academies Partnership Development

  • Serve as a primary business connector for the Academies of Albuquerque initiative.
  • Recruit, onboard, and steward business partners aligned with workforce pathways.
  • Co-develop partnership strategies in collaboration with the Impact Team.
  • Host recurring stewardship touchpoints to strengthen engagement and retention.
  • Translate business participation into both mission impact and revenue opportunity.


Engagement Architecture & Volunteer Activation

  • Design customized year-round engagement pathways and touchpoints for business partners.
  • Integrate Shared Purpose, Day of Caring, volunteerism, and mission experiences.
  • Coordinate engagement logistics in partnership with internal teams.
  • Track engagement outcomes and impact metrics for reporting and storytelling


Stewardship, CRM & Data Excellence

  • Maintain timely, accurate CRM documentation.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, forecasting, and growth trends.
  • Collaborate with pledge processing and marketing to ensure data accuracy and recognition.


Organizational Collaboration & Representation

  • Represent UWNCNM in corporate meetings, public forums, and community events.
  • Contribute to year-round revenue planning and engagement calendar development.
  • Support special initiatives and cross-departmental priorities as assigned.


GENERAL & TEAM SUPPORT:

  • Participate in developing a Year-Round Engagement and Fund-Raising Calendar
  • Participate actively in fund-raising initiatives and cross-functional projects to support our organizational goals, mission and initiatives.
  • Attend all staff meetings and trainings, and events as required or assigned.
  • Performs and completes other duties, initiatives and special projects as assigned.


Business Engagement (55%) – Primarily January through July

  • Academies of Albuquerque (AOA) Partnership
  • Identify and recruit business partners.
  • Steward UWNCNM’s business relationships including AOA relationships to promote stewardship and, at minimum, quarterly connection.
  • Co-develop business engagement strategies, funding conversations, materials, and presentations with the Impact Team.
  • Host and convene a quarterly stewardship meeting with each individual business partner to provide updates, strengthen relationships, and ensure continued engagement.
  • Retain and deepen business relationships over time through strategic engagement.
  • Celebrate and recommit for donor stewardship annually.


Volunteerism & Engagement

  • Intake businesses for Shared Purpose opportunities.
  • Optimize the Shared Purpose experience to deliver best-in-class engagement experiences.
  • Build, maintain and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to, corporate and nonprofit partners to support their volunteer needs.
  • Identify creative opportunities for businesses that add value and deepen involvement.
  • Coordinate logistics for volunteer activities, including turnkey days of service, vendor management, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Track and report engagement metrics for storytelling and continuous improvement.
  • Present at public speaking engagements in the community related to various topics on volunteerism and corporate engagement.
  • Provide excellent customer relations management (CRM).


Fund Raising (45%) – Primarily August through December

  • Enhance Workplace Giving Campaigns by providing monthly volunteer or engagement opportunities to CRO’s to provide to Employee Campaign Managers and Employees Cultivate relationships with CEOs, Employee Campaign Managers (ECMs), donors, and volunteers.
  • Create and deliver tailored fund-raising strategies, incorporating leadership giving and community engagement.
  • Conduct motivational presentations to inspire participation and investment.
  • Identify and write grant proposals for business support.
  • Account Management & Stewardship
  • Identify and create a pipeline of donors with growth potential.
  • Stewarding corporate / business relationships for shared purpose.
  • Scheduled, consistent check-ins with business partners for continued engagement and fostering the relationships.
  • Provides excellent customer services to business partners.
  • Pays attention to and supports the needs of the corporations. Cultivates transformational relationships.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of all business relationship interactions in CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with the Pledge Processing Team to ensure timely and accurate donor data management.
  • Support seasonal Campaign Coordinators to ensure their success and help them feel welcomed, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
  • Recognize and celebrate contributions of volunteers and donors through stewardship activities.


Event Support

  • Responsible for planning Day of Caring with the UWNCNM Event Planner.
  • Participate in planning and execution of UWNCNM special events and high-impact initiatives.
  • Represent UWNCNM at events, fostering strong community relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and implement cause‑marketing strategies that elevate business partner visibility to support the Academies of Albuquerque.
  • Coordinate logistics for volunteer activities with corporate partners including staff roles, supplies, day of execution, pre- and post-communications for internal volunteer opportunities.
  • Support volunteer-driven events like Day of Caring as a staff expert in nonprofit relations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in fund raising, sales, or nonprofit sector with proven success in relationship management.
  • Experience facilitating groups, working with volunteers, and managing events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms; familiarity with AI tools for operational efficiency is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to engage diverse audiences.


EQUIPMENT USED:

Standard PC Office Equipment, telephone, computer, copy machine, printer, scanner, fax machine and related equipment

Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Videoconferencing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.), Internet and web browsers for research and information gathering.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS/DEXTERITY:

UWNCNM is a hybrid workplace. This position is scheduled to work 8 hours a day, 4 days a week Tuesday through Friday. The schedule combines work-from-home on Wednesdays and Fridays, with mandatory in-person office attendance within UWNCNM’s office building required on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Due to business needs, you may occasionally be required to attend in-office days other than Tuesdays and Thursdays. The hybrid work schedule is subject to change, and you may be required to work 100% in-office at any time. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Position is primarily in a standard office environment and requires long periods of sitting at a desk and computer to accomplish duties and to stand for limited periods of time.
  • Regular attendance is required in this position.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer at an acceptable rate of speed and to view computer monitors.
  • On designated in-office days, the employee must be able to perform duties within a cubicle setting, maintaining focus and productivity in an environment with varying levels of ambient noise, including conversations and other typical office sounds.
  • Must have access to reliable internet when working from home.
  • Must be able to work occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends including but not limited to attending a variety of meetings and events.
  • Must have the flexibility to adapt schedule to meet evolving business needs as necessary.
  • Must possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license and have daily access to a dependable motor vehicle with insurance to commute to work on designated in-office days, and to use to attend offsite events, meetings, and other work activities, including those specific to the job.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodation.


LOCATION: Must be a New Mexico resident and able to commute to the UWNCNM office building in Albuquerque, NM on designated in office workdays as specified.

SALARY RANGE: $55,000 to $65,000 salary per year, salaried, exempt, 32 hours per week, FTE (Full Time Employee)
