Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute UWNYC’s comprehensive fundraising strategy across individual, corporate, foundation, and institutional giving
- Oversee the organization’s full donor portfolio, including board members, major donors, corporate partners, and institutional fundersSet and monitor annual revenue goals, budgets, and fundraising performance metrics in alignment with organizational priorities
- Drive a full-cycle fundraising approach including prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention across all revenue streamsDiversify and expand UWNYC’s funding base through major gifts, annual giving, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, planned giving, and events
- Collaborate closely with the Community Impact team to identify funding gaps and align fundraising priorities with programmatic needsPartner with Marketing & Communications to develop compelling donor materials, campaigns, and impact storytelling
- Oversee donor CRM strategy, ensuring accurate data management, reporting, and pipeline tracking (e.g., Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce)Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing Resource Development team, setting clear goals and accountability standards
- Strengthen board and senior stakeholder engagement in fundraising effortsLeverage data, market trends, and performance insights to inform fundraising strategy and decision-making
- Ensure compliance, reporting accuracy, and strong donor stewardship across all funding relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 15 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising or resource development
- Proven track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundationsExperience leading and scaling high-performing development teams
- Strong expertise across multiple fundraising channels, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, and institutional givingExcellent relationship-building skills with board members, executives, donors, and community stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing fundraising budgets, forecasting, and KPIsExperience with CRM systems such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skillsPassion for equity, community impact, and UWNYC’s mission
