Position Summary:

The Manager, Regional Workforce Collaborative (RWC) plays a central role in advancing the strategies of the RWC by overseeing pilot project implementation, supporting partner coordination, and facilitating communication, evaluation, and learning in partnership with UWGN staff and an external evaluation partner.


This role works across a network of nonprofit, employer, education, and public-sector partners to ensure pilots are executed with fidelity, progress is documented and communicated, and insights are captured to inform adaptation, scaling, and future investment.


This position manages work through influence, facilitation, and project leadership, rather than direct supervision.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Pilot Project Implementation & Coordination
  • Support the planning, launch, and day-to-day coordination of RWC pilot projects aligned with the Collaborative’s strategic priorities
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables across multiple pilots
  • Track implementation progress and flag risks, barriers, and opportunities for course correction
  • Serve as the connective tissue between UWGN, pilot partners, and other RWC stakeholders
Communication & Partner Engagement
  • Manage regular communication with RWC partners, including meeting coordination, updates, briefs, and shared learning materials
  • Prepare clear, accessible summaries of pilot progress, outcomes, and lessons learned for diverse audiences (partners, funders, UWGN leadership)
  • Support convenings, working groups, and learning sessions that foster alignment, trust, and shared ownership
  • Coordinate with consultants and external partners supporting RWC initiatives
Evaluation, Learning & Continuous Improvement
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination with the RWC’s external evaluation and learning partner and lead the qualitative data collection process, continuous improvement design and implementation, and shape the trajectory of evaluation practices for strategy and innovation team
  • Support data collection, reporting, analysis and interpretation related to pilot outcomes, implementation quality, and systems-level insights
  • Translate evaluation findings into actionable learning for partners and UWGN staff
  • Develop high-level literature reviews for pilots and other relevant research
  • Help document proof points, promising practices, and implications for scale or policy alignment
Grants & Administrative Support
  • Support grant reporting requirements related to RWC pilots, including narrative updates and performance metrics
  • Assist with documentation, tracking, and coordination needed to maximize the impact of grant-funded initiatives
  • Contribute to sustainability planning by helping surface evidence and stories that support continued investment

Education:

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Evaluation & Learning Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating with external evaluation or learning partners and serving as a primary point of contact for evaluation-related work
  • Demonstrated ability to lead qualitative data collection processes, including interviews, focus groups, partner reflection sessions, and implementation learning activities
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement design and implementation, using learning cycles to inform real-time adjustments to pilot strategies and operations
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into clear findings, lessons learned, and implications for decision-making
  • Comfort shaping and strengthening evaluation practices that support strategy, innovation, and learning, including documenting proof points, implementation insights, and early signals of impact
  • Familiarity with developmental, formative, or learning-oriented evaluation approaches in complex, multi-partner initiatives is strongly preferred

Additional Competencies and/or qualifications

  • Education or experience with grant management
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite specifically excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to work with diverse constituency and relate to individuals and groups in a manner that will inspire respect and confidence
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Ability to withstand stress and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands: Visual acuity, manual dexterity, hearing, driving, standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their essential duties.

Working Conditions:

  • Minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Based on campaign schedules, position often requires work beyond traditional hours
  • Flexible schedule required during special projects and events
  • Work involves frequent interaction with other members of the United Way staff, volunteers, representatives of non-profit agencies and the general public
  • Occasional use of personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed)
  • The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, and balance.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perform repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
