Role Description The Senior Community Impact Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Seattle, WA, responsible for leading initiatives that advance United Way of King County’s goals in housing stability, educational success, and financial empowerment. This role designs, implements, and manages community impact strategies in partnership with local organizations, government agencies, and community leaders. The Senior Community Impact Manager oversees program planning and performance, coordinates grantmaking and contracts, monitors outcomes, and uses data to inform improvements. Day-to-day work includes building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, facilitating community meetings, and representing United Way of King County at events and coalitions. The role also collaborates closely with internal teams on communications, fundraising alignment, and reporting to ensure equity-centered, community-informed programs.
Qualifications
- Experience designing, managing, and evaluating community-based programs, including setting goals, tracking outcomes, and using data to drive decisions.
- Strong skills in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management with community organizations, public agencies, and residents.
- Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and social justice, with experience applying equity principles in program design, community engagement, and decision-making.
- Proficiency in project management, including planning, prioritizing, and coordinating multiple initiatives and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation, presentation, and the ability to adapt communication to diverse audiences.
- Experience with budgeting, grant or contract management, and stewardship of public or philanthropic funds.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines, as well as independently with sound judgment and accountability.
- Relevant experience in community development, social services, public policy, education, housing, or related fields; nonprofit or public sector experience is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as public administration, social work, public health, or education) or a combination of education, lived experience, and professional experience that provides comparable skills.
- Familiarity with the King County or broader Puget Sound region community landscape is a plus.
