Director of Resource Development
United Way Greater Chippewa Valley Salary: $55,000 – $60,000 annually
Status: Full-Time, Exempt Location: Eau Claire/Chippewa Valley (hybrid remote options available)
About the Role
United Way Greater Chippewa Valley (UWGCV) is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Director of Resource Development to lead our fundraising and revenue-generating efforts in support of our mission to improve lives and create stronger communities. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and oversees all aspects of resource development, including the annual campaign, major gifts, sponsorships, planned giving, affinity groups, and endowment initiatives.
The Director of Resource Development works closely with the Creative Director and Executive Director to support strategic communications, public relations, and brand-building initiatives, while also leading and supporting volunteers and workplace campaign efforts across Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage corporate relations, donor engagement, new business development, and major/planned giving.
- Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies aligned to organizational goals.
- Create and manage an annual resource development budget.
- Recruit, train, and support Campaign Cabinet volunteers.
- Track campaign results and progress toward revenue goals.
- Represent UWGCV at events and within the community.
- Provide oversight and support to affinity groups such as Emerging Leaders Society.
- Coordinate special events, including the annual golf tournament and donor recognition events.
- Collaborate across departments to align fundraising initiatives and community needs.
Qualifications
- Education and/or experience in fundraising, business, marketing, public relations, or related field.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including public speaking.
- Fundraising or business development experience preferred.
- Experience working with community groups or organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Volunteer management experience.
- Proficiency with Office 365 and databases.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment with limited supervision and maintain confidentiality.

Schedule
Office hours are flexible, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend work may be required to support events or community engagements.
