Purpose
The Mitigation Estimator will accurately assess, scope, and estimate mitigation projects to ensure quality and profitability. This role also involves technical guidance during project execution and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- **Initial Assessments & Lead Management:**
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections to evaluate damage and define the project scope.
- Develop detailed estimates for scope, materials, labor, and timelines.
- Capture leads and secure project contracts based on initial assessments.
- **Project Planning & Scheduling:**
- Establish project scope and generate work orders for field teams.
- Collaborate with project managers to plan timelines and resource allocation.
- **Client & Stakeholder Communication:**
- Clearly communicate project scope, estimates, and requirements to clients and stakeholders.
- Provide updates on project status and scope changes during mitigation.
- **Site Support & Walkthroughs:**
- Offer technical guidance to field teams during remediation.
- Perform walkthroughs to ensure scope adherence and quality standards.
- **Documentation & Quality Assurance:**
- Prepare and review all project documentation, photos, and reports.
- Audit final paperwork to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
- **Financial Oversight & Collections:**
- Manage project's financial setup, including initial estimates and carrier notifications.
- Submit final invoices to clients and assist with collections within 45 days.
- **Negotiation & Contract Closure:**
- Negotiate with clients, adjusters, and partners on scope and payment issues.
- Finalize project agreements and ensure client satisfaction.
- **Support & Collaboration:**
- Assist field crews, project managers, and estimators with technical queries.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- **Safety and Compliance:**
- Adhere to safety protocols during assessments and on-site monitoring.
- Ensure all project practices comply with regulatory and company standards.
- Maintain target profit margins on water damage, mold, fire, and trauma projects.
- Achieve high closing percentage of assigned leads
- Collect reviews from clients at conclusion of project
- Ensure timely invoicing and collections.
- Keep project documentation error rate under 5%.
- Strong experience in mitigation estimating, preferably in water damage restoration.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project documentation and financial oversight.
