HR Generalist

Reports to : Manager of Human Resources

This is a full-time position. Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends as necessary as customer demands could cause staff to work outside normal business operating hours.

Position Overview

The Human Resource Generalist will perform day-to-day administrative task and services to support effective and efficient operations with a strong emphasis on payroll processing, employee data management, benefits administration through ADP Workforce Now. This role serves as a key resource for employees and management, ensuring accurate payroll processing, compliance with employment laws, and efficient administration of HR programs.

Essential Functions:

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll through ADP Workforce Now.
• Review and validate employee timecards, earnings, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
• Ensure payroll accuracy and timely submission of payroll for processing.
• Maintain employee records and updates within ADP Workforce Now, including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, and compensation changes.
• Generate payroll, attendance, benefits, and HR reports as needed.
• Audit payroll records and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage garnishments, wage attachments, deductions, direct deposits, and tax-related updates.
• Partner with Finance and Payroll teams to ensure accurate payroll reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records and documentation
• Maintain integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
• Provides administrative support to the HR Team.
• Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers
• Conducts or assists with the new hire orientation.
• Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and retirement celebrations.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Technology:

This position requires the use of specific hardware and software. The HR Generalist will utilize computer and phone systems to accomplish their daily tasks. In addition, the Generalist will frequently use ADP application, Microsoft Office, specifically outlook, Word, and Excel.

Work Environment:

This position works in an office setting. Working in close proximity with peers.

Required Education and Experience:

• Prior related HR experience
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resources information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Desired: Certification in Human Resources
• Associate degree in related field
• Prior experience with ADP or ADP Workforce Now

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger to type. The employee frequently will sit for long periods of time throughout the day.
