About The Role
As a Lighting Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing lighting systems throughout our utility infrastructure projects across North Carolina. You will work closely with technical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable lighting for our customers and communities.

About The Role
As a Lighting Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing lighting systems throughout our utility infrastructure projects across North Carolina. You will work closely with technical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable lighting for our customers and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair electrical lighting systems, both indoor and outdoor.
- Interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documents for lighting projects.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of lighting equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Diagnose and resolve faults in lighting circuits, controls, and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and electrical codes.
- Operate tools, testing equipment, and lift platforms safely during service calls.
- Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain clear records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
- Participate in safety training and workplace hazard analyses.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience as a lighting technician, electrician, or in electrical maintenance roles.
- Solid understanding of lighting systems, electrical codes, and relevant equipment.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Utility pole climbing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with climbing and fall protection equipment.
- Personal climbing gear is a plus.
- Familiarity with national and local electrical standards.
- Effective troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work safely at heights, including on aerial lifts or ladders.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Physical capability to handle tools and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
- Completion of an apprenticeship or technical training in electrical or lighting systems.
- Experience with LED lighting systems, energy-efficient solutions, or advanced lighting controls.
- Journeyman Electrician or Lighting Technician certification.
- OSHA, aerial lift, or similar safety certifications.
