About The Role
The Construction Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing construction projects from initiation to completion. This position involves coordinating and supervising all aspects of the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Construction Manager collaborates with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects.
This position reports out of Hartford, CT, supporting Transmission and Substation projects throughout the Connecticut region. This is a field position, required to be on-site or in office full-time.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Managers typically work on construction sites and may be required to travel between project locations. The role may involve both office and fieldwork, with the need to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. - Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Monitor and control construction costs, seeking cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and safety.
- Supervise and allocate resources efficiently, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address construction defects or deviations from plans.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a secure working environment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Resolve issues and conflicts among project team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and manage construction schedules, ensuring that projects are completed on time.
- Identify potential delays and implement strategies to mitigate schedule risks.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and project reports.
- Generate regular status reports for project stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 5-10 years of Construction Management experience
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager, with a successful track record of overseeing construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with construction software and tools.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Certification.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Leadership and team management experience.
