Natural Gas Utility Service Technician

Job Summary:

Perform maintenance, repairs, installation and removal of meters and additional gas equipment. Responsible for troubleshooting company equipment and customer appliances. Turn On and Off gas services to businesses and homes. Read meters and maintain logs and records. Perform safety inspections as required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Maintain, repair and troubleshoot meters, regulators, control valves, and other associated gas equipment.

· Respond to customer reported emergencies to investigate gas leaks and repair as needed.

· Install, replace and change gas meters as necessary.

· Read meters and properly document and maintain all logs and records.

· Connect and disconnect gas services.

· Troubleshoot problems with technical aptitude.

· Ability to use various hand and power tools.

· Ability to work independently and act with little to no supervision.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Communicate effectively with customers while maintaining professional demeanor.

· Maintain vehicle inventory.

· Participation in random drug tests.

· Work in all weather conditions, and physically able to work outside for long periods of time.

· Willingness to travel to different customer locations.

· Willingness to work emergency and natural disaster response as needed.

· Maintain professional appearance and mannerisms.

· Uphold interior and exterior vehicle cleanliness.

· Adhere to safety standards.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Mechanically inclined.

· Computer literate and skilled for use of laptop and/or tablets for service orders and documentation.

· Ability to use logic to solve and analyze problems.

· Act with integrity and use sound judgement.

· No experience necessary, willing to train enthusiastic, motivated individual.

· Possess valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.

· Undergo background and drug test upon employment offer.
