The Foreman reports directly to the Pole Inspection Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field execution for assigned Crewmen and Inspectors; organize work, conduct job briefings, assign tasks, and maintain safe and productive crew operations.
  • Perform and oversee qualified visual assessment, sounding, boring, excavation, decay evaluation, treatment, restoration, tagging, and pole-level documentation.
  • Ensure crew decisions, treatment actions, data records, and completed work comply with current client specifications and approved company procedures.
  • Perform routine in-process and end-of-day checks of photographs, measurements, GPS/location data, condition codes, treatment records, tags, and notes before submission.
  • Coach crew members, reinforce approved work methods, and ensure personnel perform only work for which they are trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Maintain truck, tools, treatment materials, PPE, inventory, and field supplies in a safe, organized, and production-ready condition.
  • Enforce applicable 811/One Call, ground-disturbance, OSHA, DOT, electrical-safety, traffic-control, environmental, pesticide, and stop-work requirements.
  • Escalate critical rejects, unusual conditions, access issues, quality concerns, scope questions, and conditions outside crew authority to the Pole Inspection Supervisor.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of direct experience in the assessment and treatment of wood utility poles; additional experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency in sounding, boring, excavation, decay assessment, treatment, restoration, and pole-level documentation.
  • Successful completion of company-approved safety, assessment, preservative-handling, and competency testing.
  • Meet applicable client and state requirements for pesticide/commercial applicator qualification for assigned duties and jurisdiction.
  • Ability to lead a field crew while balancing safety, quality, productivity, crew development, and cost awareness; valid driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current state pesticide/applicator license applicable to wood-pole treatment.
  • Experience with PAPR, groundline inspection, pole-life-extension, formal QC, 811/One Call, damage prevention, or utility locating.
