We have an immediate need for a Mortgage Loan Processor. This role does not require previous mortgage experience and is a full-time with benefits role.

Basic Function:

The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for proactively managing a pipeline of loan submissions to underwriting on behalf of the retail branches of the Mortgage Division. This includes working with Sales Managers and Loan Processors to facilitate the approval and closing of quality loans.

Hourly rate $19.00 - $21.00 additional amount per loan (hourly commission/bonus).

Position is Hybrid/remote - office location, Uniontown, Ohio

Activities Required:

  • Act as liaison between Branch personnel and Underwriting Department.
  • Manage pipeline of conventional, government and/or portfolio loans.
  • Maintain knowledge of UTB and Investor product guidelines.
  • Ensure all loan submissions are in compliance with state and federal regulations. Report any non-compliant loan submissions to the Director of Operations.
  • Handles escalated problems and issues requiring a senior level knowledge of residential mortgage loan processing.
  • Takes on a senior role for the Branch processing team and assists in training for new hires.
  • Actively participate in ongoing efforts to continually improve customer service for internal and external customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of UTB’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Branch personnel with questions concerning the processing and submission of loan files.
  • Ensure all loans submitted to Underwriting are complete and documentation in file is consistent.
  • Validate automated underwriting decision.
  • Serve as an intermediary for loan issues with Loan Originators, Processors and Underwriting.
  • Evaluate loan documentation and clear conditions as per delegated authority
  • Immediately forward all Critical conditions to Underwriter upon receipt (i.e. Appraisal, Title, Income Docs, etc.).
  • Maintain high level of customer service by being proactive in communicating with the processors and loan originators.
  • Other duties as requested by Director of Operations.
  • Employee is responsible for complying with the Bank’s BSA/AML and OFAC Compliance and Consumer Compliance policies and procedures relevant to their responsibilities. If the employee is not certain of what the specific instance calls for, the employee will consult the respective policy and will contact their manager, BSA Officer and/or the Corporate Compliance Officer with additional questions.

Key Performance Factors:

Close a minimum of 50 loans per month.

Required Experience /Knowledge/Education/Training:

  • Knowledge of FNMA, FHA, & VA underwriting guidelines.
  • Knowledge of processing and underwriting procedures.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and desktop applications.
  • Minimum of 3 years of mortgage processing in a in a fast-paced retail or wholesale environment.
  • Must have proven experience in a fast-paced, service-oriented mortgage banking environment.

Salary : $45,000 - $75,000
