What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Clerk: Houston position at United Tool and Fastener?
The Warehouse Clerk will fulfill and process orders, accept incoming shipments, and oversee the general organization of the warehouse. Prefer someone with extensive experience in shipping, i.e. creating shipping labels and using the portals for UPS and other freight companies?
Duties
· Maintains an accurate running inventory.
· Restocks supplies and inventory; places blanket and special orders as needed.
· Enters purchase order data in the inventory control system.
· Accepts, verifies, inspects, and records all deliveries according to policy.
· Records, reports, and returns defective items.
· Processes invoices, supplying necessary data to accounting or other appropriate department for payment and recordkeeping.
· Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
· Handles complaints related to shipments; notifies supervisor of any shipping or receiving issues.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Proficient with inventory control systems.
· Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Excellent time management skills.
Experience with creating shipping labels and working with various freight portals, a plus
· Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying, in an environment that is not climate controlled.
· Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time.
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
