Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF). The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create manufactured organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option. Who You Are Hands‑on science. Real‑world impact. As a Bioprocess Technician I on our Bioscaffolds team, you’ll support the processes that help turn innovative science into engineered lung tissue. You’ll work directly with tissue preparation, decellularization systems, and bioanalytical assays—contributing to meaningful progress in regenerative medicine. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on lab work, takes pride in precision, and wants to grow their skills while being part of something bigger. Conduct and assist in research efforts to develop tissue-based regenerative medicine products for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension and other lung diseases. Regularly prepare and record use of materials and reagents needed to carry out experiments Prepare or assist in preparation of non-human organs and tissues for experimentation Perform maintenance, cleaning, sterilization, and set-up of decellularization systems for tissue engineering studies as needed Regularly operate in-house lung decellularization systems under moderate supervision to support process development activities for a tissue engineered product Regularly perform bioanalytical assays to characterize tissue engineered constructs Identify deviations or issues during testing and promptly report findings to supervisor or team lead for guidance Make technical observations during processes and communicate to manager or stakeholder for next steps Record laboratory and inventory data in the in-house data management system(s) Follow laboratory safety procedures, including proper PPE use and handling of biohazard materials Adhere to standard operating procedures and protocols under GLP/GMP-like conditions May handle human tissue, cells, and/or materials that come into contact with human cells that may carry infectious agents. Shall comply with appropriate safety procedures and exercise universal precautions Perform all other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements H.S. Diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or Associate Degree in life science, engineering, or biomedical science 1 years of experience in life science, bioengineering, or biomedical research Ability to independently follow experimental methods and protocols Experience with laboratory instrumentation and data software Ability to organize data Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work with a diverse team Ability to initiate routine and day-to-day tasks Familiarity with appropriate word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and related software Highly self-motivated Good written and oral communication skills Knowledge of aseptic technique Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in life science, engineering, or biomedical science with relevant course work, experience, or project-based undergraduate research experience Location This role is located onsite 5 days a week in RTP, NC.
