Job Summary:
The Surgical Institute of Reading seeks a highly skilled Scrub Tech to join our team. As a Scrub Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures and assisting the surgical team in achieving high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist the circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
- Gather necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument count pre-operatively and intra-operative with the circulating nurse.
- Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.
- Retain all specimens to be sent to pathology, confirming source/name of specimen with surgeon.
- Transport surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas.
- Interact effectively with patients and others regardless of age or ethnic background.
- Use Standard Universal Precautions and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
