Patient Advocate at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:
- The patient advocate has the responsibility acting as a liaison between the patients’ family and the nursing staff for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Outpatient Center. It is his/her responsibility to know where a patient is in the system and to keep the family members informed of the patient’s progress.

Required Skills:
Education:
- High School Graduate, or equivalent
- BLS, required
Required Experience:
- Experience in Public Relations, medical office, patient relations, scheduling a plus
- Good organization habits.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery process and management of the flow of the surgical patient.
- Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation.
- Performs effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities.
- Able to communicate effectively with patients’ families.
- Able to communicate appropriate information from the doctors and nursing staff.
