We are currently looking for an Authorizations Analyst to join our team.
Job Summary:
- Under general supervision of the Business Office Director, the Authorization Analyst is responsible for the obtaining, tracking and communication of evolving payer authorization requirements.
- Responsible for reviewing payer requirements and obtain authorization or follow-up with physician offices.
- Ensures the business office director is updated on requirements related to authorizations for hospital billing related services.
- Actively supports the execution of strategic initiatives including root cause analysis metric/report development and special projects as it relates to authorization denials.
- This position will interact with business office staff and the Central Services Organization (CSO) management and will report directly to the Business Office Director at North Central Surgical Center.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prefer 1-2 years’ experience obtaining hospital authorizations
- One year previous experience or some hospital clerical experience or medical terminology preferred.
- Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
- Good communication skills and interpersonal relation skills
- Must use independent judgment and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Excellent time management skills.
