Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and assisting with medication administration as per care plans.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light cleaning duties.
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals while respecting their dignity and independence.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers when necessary.
- Observe and document changes in clients’ behavior or health status, reporting any concerns to appropriate staff members.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving, home health, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor clients effectively.
- Familiarity with first aid and CPR procedures is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
