Key Responsibilities
- When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest.
- Maintain integrity of pharmacy operations within the legal framework provided by the State Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Agency, Department of Public Safety and other governmental agencies in conjunction with the policy and procedure guidelines set forth by United Supermarkets.
- Ensure completion and compliance of goals, tasks, standards, and other job-related criteria assigned to the pharmacy.
- Maintain open communication with pharmacy staff to ensure continued growth, development, education, and compliance with evolving pharmacy operations.
- Oversee every aspect of the pharmacy operation including but not limited to dispensing, counseling, scheduling and supervision of technicians, pharmacy team member management, participation in clinical programs including immunization administration, inventory management and control, and overall financial performance and contribution of the pharmacy department.
- Monitor patients’ drug therapies for effectiveness and safety, making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Stay informed about new drugs and developments in pharmacy practice through continuing education and professional development activities.
- Lead and supervise a team of pharmacists, technicians, and all other pharmacy support staff, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Partner with pharmacy operations team and store leadership to ensure communication and integration of pharmacy service into total store.
- Responsible for preparation, upkeep and outcomes of pharmacy and pharmacy monthly audits.
- Ensure the communication and integration of pharmacy service into total store.
- Other duties as assigned by upper management.
- BS in Pharmacy and/or PharmD Degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy
- Active and in good standing pharmacist license issued by the Board of Pharmacy of the state(s) in which you are practicing
- Preceptor by the State Board of Pharmacy
- Excellent problem solving and management skills
- Basic accounting and computer skills
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations including medication dispensing, inventory management, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Retail pharmacy experience is a plus
- Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
- Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, such as bending, standing, squatting, climbing and walking for 8-12 hour period
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and some holidays as required
- Immunization certification from accredited organization within first 90 days
- Active CPR certification within first 90 days
