- Train store teams to effectively implement the merchandising and sales plans to include:
- Stocking, display building, backroom standards and sales floor standards
- Selection and maintenance of product variety by store as established by our merchandising hierarchy for specific store clusters
- Implementation of plan-o-grams by store layout and display support
- Order writing to achieve the desired product display presentation
- New item and deletion processes to expedite speed to shelf on new items
- Markdown process for maximization on sell through of seasonal merchandise and gross profit opportunities
- Partner with store management and merchandising in:
- Guest-centric merchandising
- Solutions selling
- Understand the differences between various store banners
- Understand how demographics influence product selection and presentation
- Optimize cross-merchandising opportunities
- Importance of item positioning and adjacencies
- Providing timely feedback and escalation of problems preventing execution of plans
- Support store departments and cross-functional operations in:
- Implementation of merchandising programs
- Presentation, freshness and cleanliness
- Sales, Labor and Gross Profit performance
- Assisting in opening new and remodeled stores
- MinimizatioThe Center Store Supervisor will train Center-Store department members to effectively implement merchandising and sales plans. He/She will coordinate merchandising activities to achieve quality presentations and follow through on all merchandising programs and to install a high degree of Guest service and awareness. He/She will be responsible for implementation of and continued execution of department sales, merchandising, and various other initiatives.n of Shrink
- Safety procedures
- Plan for the transition of major departmental resets to minimize loss of sales dollars and customer inconvenience in conjunction with Merchandising team
- Advocate for compliance regarding planograms
- Advocate for compliance regarding display planners
- Advocate for cross merchandising efforts throughout the store
- Monitor competitors activities
- Demonstrate actions and results biased toward achieving the company’s vision, values and strategic goals
- Assist in identifying Team Members with promotion potential
- Foster an empowered learning and high performance environment
- Performs all other duties as required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years of Grocery and/or General Merchandise experience required, preferably some experience in multiple Center-Store departments
- Previous experience in Center-Store operations
- Strong merchandising skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
- Ability to build and manage relationships throughout the store and community
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Ability to gain trust, respect and buy-in from all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel, some overnight stays required
- Self-starter, with excellent time management skills
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift items weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to use a forklift and pallet jack
- Ability to work independently without supervision and effectively manage time
- Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
- Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
