Position Summary
United States Welding Corporation is a leading manufacturer of ultra-clean, high-performance welding wire for the aerospace, defense, and energy industries. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Machine Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the production equipment used in our manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery.
- Perform equipment adjustments, alignments, and machine setup.
- Fabricate or modify machine components, guards, brackets, and fixtures as needed.
- Assist with installation, relocation, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Work closely with production personnel to quickly resolve equipment issues.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Welding, machining, fabrication, or millwright experience is a plus.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as needed.
- Work safely around industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Occasionally work overtime or respond to emergency equipment repairs.
