Job Responsibilities

• Perform brake test and customary car inspections
• Operate bridges as needed
• Lace train air line hoses
• Fill out all required forms pertaining to the job
• Safely transport personnel
• Operate handbrakes on equipment as needed
• Assist Conductors as needed to expedite train movements in and outside of rail yards

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak and write English
• Ability to work with others and or alone with minimum supervision
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate information pertaining to the job
• Ability to maintain written documentation pertaining to the job

• Ability to follow proper safety and housekeeping procedures pertaining to the area
• Ability to work the posted schedule with shift work and overtime as necessary
• Results from Company designated tests designed to measure basic skills, job skills, mechanical aptitude and/or other interests, skills and characteristics
• Competence performing some or all of the duties of the vacant position or of a related position
• No active disciplinary action and good work history
• Educational and previous work experience

• Have a valid Driver’s License, Class E or above

Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee works and drives in outside weather conditions on a regular basis.
• Working conditions may be rainy, hot, humid, dusty, foggy etc. depending on the weather and may be at night time
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud 
• Duties of this job are also performed in an office environment

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle and/or move various objects, tools and/or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk, hear, and see
• Stand for long periods of time

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Visibility must extend to 62’ and beyond.
• Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary and use common office equipment
• Ability to move or handle various items generally weighing between 0-75 pounds. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb and walk significant distances
• Mount and dismount locomotive and check switch points for proper alignment

This position will be reporting to Mickey Watson and/or Trainmasters
