A day in the life
Your shift begins with a safety huddle and job plan review. From there, you’ll move between plant areas—some hot, cold, wet, greasy, dirty, or noisy—diagnosing issues and restoring equipment to service. You’ll handle everything from conveyors and cranes to hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems. When required, you’ll operate pendant and overhead cranes or a forklift to position parts and tooling. Some tasks may take you to elevated work platforms or into confined spaces. You’ll alternate between independent assignments and teaming up with other maintenance techs to minimize downtime.

- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and equipment: hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, power transmission systems, conveyors, cranes, and mobile equipment.
- Support operations when needed to maintain continuous production.
- Work safely at heights and/or in confined spaces as the job requires.
- Shift between solo work with minimal supervision and collaborative repairs with peers.
- Move throughout the plant to address issues across varied environmental conditions.
What you bring
- At least 1 year of manufacturing and/or industrial experience (relevant military experience counts) or equivalent education. Experience can include hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, power transmission systems, welding, pipe-fitting, structural repair, and diesel mechanic.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
