Here's a summary of responsibilities:

The Senior Director, Impact Communications leads the development and execution of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s impact communications strategy. The role translates organizational priorities, investments and outcomes into clear, credible and emotionally resonant stories that demonstrate how the USOPC and the broader Team USA Movement support athletes, strengthen the sport system and create lasting impact.

Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, the Senior Director works within the Communications function and serves as its lead partner for enterprise impact storytelling. The role builds a disciplined pipeline of stories, data and proof points; develops audience-relevant narratives and content; and helps integrate impact across executive, employee, donor, partner, owned and earned communications.

This role partners closely with the USOPC Foundation, Sport and Athlete Services, Commercial, People & Culture, Government Affairs and other teams to connect organizational strategy and funding priorities to meaningful, consistent storytelling—particularly as the organization prepares for LA28 and the decade of opportunity beyond it.

Here’s how you’ll have an impact:

Impact Communications Strategy & Narrative

  • Develop and execute an enterprise impact communications strategy aligned with USOPC priorities, the broader Communications strategy and organizational objectives.
  • Engage and manage the Storytelling Advisory group to achieve program goals with buy-in across the groups, departments and leaders.
  • Translate complex strategies, investments, programs and outcomes into clear, audience-relevant narratives that show why the work matters and whom it benefits.
  • Build and maintain a narrative framework that connects athlete support, NGB strength, innovation, health and wellness, community impact and other priority areas to the USOPC’s mission.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the USOPC’s broader growth narrative by demonstrating how increased investment expands support for athletes and the sport system.
  • Establish messaging standards and proof points that enable consistent, credible impact storytelling across the organization.

Story Pipeline & Content Development

  • Build and manage a pipeline of high-value athlete, program and organizational impact stories, including supporting outcomes, data, examples and visual assets.
  • Lead the development of impact narratives and content for organizational reports, campaigns, executive communications, employee engagement, donor communications, owned channels and other priority uses.
  • Create repeatable processes for story identification, intake, development, fact-checking, approvals, rights and distribution.
  • Partner with content, digital, creative, media relations and stakeholder communications teams to adapt stories for the right audience, channel and moment.
  • Ensure storytelling reflects the full Olympic and Paralympic Movement and represents athletes and stakeholders accurately, respectfully and authentically.

Enterprise Communications Partnership

  • Participate in Communications editorial planning and campaign development to identify moments when impact stories and proof points can strengthen enterprise storytelling.
  • Partner with Media Relations and Communications leadership to determine when impact stories have external potential and to align on positioning, reputation considerations and amplification strategy.
  • Support executive and employee communications with impact messaging, examples and content that connect organizational decisions and priorities to the Team USA mission.
  • Provide impact narrative support for select organizational moments and stakeholder experiences, including leadership forums, all-staff meetings and major Movement milestones.

Foundation & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary Communications partner to the USOPC Foundation on impact storytelling, aligning philanthropic priorities and investment opportunities with the broader enterprise narrative.
  • Work with program owners and subject-matter experts to define intended impact, identify credible evidence and develop stories that accurately reflect results and learning.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization, serve as a strategic counselor on impact messaging and audience needs, and direct staff or external partners contributing to the work.

Employee Communications & Organizational Engagement

  • Serve as a strategic communications partner to P&C and select senior leaders on organizational updates, culture communications, change initiatives, and employee engagement moments.
  • Refine and lead execution of the annual employee communications strategy in alignment with Communications, P&C, and Annual Impact Plan (AIP) priorities, with a focus on engagement, trust, transparency, and organizational alignment.
  • Lead the quarterly AIP readout strategy and related communications for People Leaders, including the AIP Quarterly Toolkit, People Leader Playbook, and other leader-ready materials, in partnership with Strategic Impact and Impact Storytelling.
  • Manage the development and distribution of employee surveys (e.g., Employee Engagement Survey, Post-Games Survey, pulse surveys) and shape communications related to results, action planning, and follow-through.
  • Lead Team Member communications strategy, planning, and execution for Games-time periods, including Home and Away Team messaging, content development and distribution, and communications for Games leadership.
  • Support quarterly Town Halls, All-Staff Assemblies, People Leader programming, and other enterprise-wide meetings, with emphasis on narrative, messaging, audience experience, and mission connection.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish goals and measures for impact communications, including content use, audience engagement, stakeholder response and contribution to organizational priorities.
  • Track how impact stories and proof points are used across channels and teams, and apply insights to strengthen future storytelling.
  • Maintain appropriate governance and quality standards to ensure impact claims are supported, current and consistent.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
