What are the responsibilities and job description for the Writing and Communication Specialist position at United States Naval Academy?
The Class of 1963 Center for Academic Excellence invites applications for an intermittent professional Writing & Communication Center tutor to begin as early as Spring 2026. As a member of this academic support unit, the tutor will provide one-on-one assistance to students with public speaking, presentation skills, interview preparation, and other types of professional communication skills. Additionally, the tutor will provide one-on-one assistance to students at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to the final draft. The tutor will work up to 20 hours per week during open business hours: Monday through Friday, 0745-1600. To qualify, individuals must have a Master's degree in a writing-intensive or communication-focused field. The ideal candidate would also have teaching experience in composition/literature, professional writing and/or business communication courses and two years of experience tutoring in a Writing Center or Writing & Communication Center setting.
