Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical design and drafting, utilizing advanced CAD software to create detailed technical drawings and schematics. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to interpret complex engineering concepts, and a commitment to producing high-quality work that adheres to industry standards.
Duties
- Develop and prepare detailed mechanical drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, and MicroStation.
- Create 2D and 3D models for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineers to understand design specifications and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards in all drafting work.
- Utilize GD&T principles to accurately convey tolerances and fits in designs.
- Perform system design tasks, including the creation of schematics for mechanical systems.
- Conduct technical writing for documentation related to designs and specifications.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on mechanical designs.
- Assist in the assembly process by providing detailed drawings that facilitate construction.
- Utilize FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools as needed to validate designs.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and MicroStation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity with drafting standards and techniques, including GD&T.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of construction processes related to mechanical systems.
- Experience with Bluebeam for document management and collaboration is a plus.
- Ability to create detailed assembly instructions from drafted designs.
- Strong technical writing skills for documentation purposes.
