What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer position at United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development?
We are looking for a civil engineer to support Community Facilities and Water and Wastewater projects in rural areas in Maryland and Delaware. Duties include:
- Reviews planning documents/Preliminary Engineering Reports (PER) and complete analyses and recommendations regarding the technical merit of applications for funding.
- Attends pre-construction conferences, monthly construction meetings, substantial completion/pre-final inspections, and warranty inspections.
- Develops state specific engineering policies and works with the National Office in the approval of such documents.
- Advises and gives training to staff on civil engineering, and other engineering-related activities of Rural Development programs (e.g., architecture).
- Prepares required reports and oversees establishment and maintenance of necessary engineering records, references and working materials as well as electronic project management and underwriting tools.
