POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager will be part of USCIB’s Trade and Digital Policy Practice and will be responsible for coordinating and managing USCIB work related to banking, financial services, and the macroeconomy, while also assisting the trade and tax teams as needed. Primary responsibilities include consensus policy development and articulation, issues management, and management of the USCIB Banking Committee.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy/Issues Management

  • Identify and track relevant issues of concern for US business being developed by international institutions and the US Executive Branch – interpret and explain these developments to USCIB members.
  • Produce in consultation with USCIB committee members USCIB policy positions and statements. Facilitate dialogue and build consensus among USCIB members on complex policy issues.
  • Represent USCIB member consensus views to appropriate audiences (e.g. international organizations, US and foreign governments, media), and coordinate engagement and ongoing activity where necessary.
  • Develop and assist in implementing conferences, seminars, and other events to promote policy positions.
  • Participate in meetings relevant to committee work with US government; multilateral, international, and affiliate organizations; issues experts; etc., to advance USCIB member views and achieve strategic goals.
  • Prepare committee action plans for annual policy priorities and provide periodic progress reports to members and USCIB staff of committee accomplishments.
  • Support trade and tax practices on a project basis, as needed.


Working with International Organizations

  • Shape and ensure strong US representation, direction, and leadership in the policy work of the USCIB’s affiliates – ICC, IOE, BIAC and UN – and of relevant international banking organizations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and channels of communication with affiliates and relevant international, intergovernmental, and multilateral organizations’ secretariats and staffs.
  • Attend relevant meetings as needed and prepare and provide staff support for USCIB member delegates in attendance.


Committee Administration

  • Work with Banking Committee officers to schedule and plan committee meetings, including development of agendas and securing timely, relevant outside speakers.
  • Procure and distribute informational materials to members as appropriate; disseminate meeting materials, including meeting reports, in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate and advance member interest in affiliate organization committees, task forces and working groups.
  • Establish contacts and maintain ongoing liaison with:
  • Staff counterparts in affiliate organizations;
  • Staff contacts in intergovernmental organizations;
  • Executive branch; and
  • Other US general and sectoral business associations.


Marketing/Communications/Membership Development

  • Retention: Work with USCIB VP Membership to actively engage USCIB members in relevant policy advocacy and related activities, demonstrating the value of USCIB to member companies.
  • Recruitment: Work with USCIB Membership to identify prospective members and generate interest in USCIB through communication and demonstration of the value proposition of USCIB policy work.
  • Help prepare marketing/communications materials, including e-news articles, press releases, as appropriate.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Five-seven years’ experience in international financial policy or banking with a solid understanding of relevant policy, regulations, and how international transactions are executed.
  • Experience working with the Executive Branch on these issues is desirable.
  • Familiarity with multilateral institutions such the OECD, International Chamber of Commerce, and the WTO is desirable.
  • An advanced degree in a field related to international economics or international affairs is a plus.
  • Computer fluency is mandatory, and candidates should be permanent residents or US citizens.


SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary range for this role is between $85,000 and $115,000 plus a discretionary bonus. USCIB offers a highly competitive compensation package that includes medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k)-retirement company matching program, generous paid time off, and the ability to participate in pre-tax transportation, and flexible spending account programs. USCIB currently requires in-office work Tuesday – Thursday, with WFH options on Mondays and Fridays.
