Qualifications:
Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:- Providing a consistently high level of customer service and liaison to supervisors, managers, and executives in USBP and outside agencies and organizations.
- Advising, creating, and submitting accurate personnel related actions for promotions, reassignments, transfers, retirements, awards, timecards, and leave.
- Providing guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures to the supervisor and other senior managers.
- Developing and delivering briefings, project papers, status and staff reports, and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
- Managing base pay, premium pay, overtime, and leave entitlements and administration.

Responsibilities:
In this Mission Support Specialist role, you will become a key team member of homeland security professionals involved in planning and carrying out a wide variety of administrative management and program planning activities.This position starts at a salary of $102,415.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $133,142.00 (GS-12, Step 10).
Typical duties of this assignment include:
- Providing staffing advice to senior U.S. Border Patrol Leaders and staff.
- Generating and maintaining various reports, making updates and providing information for U.S. Border Patrol's internal table of Organization tracker and monitoring tickler reports and staffing tables.
- Assisting with administrative operations within U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters.
- Providing support with the performance appraisal and award programs on employee eligibility for various awards.
