What are the responsibilities and job description for the International Multimedia Journalist III (Korean Service) position at United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM)?
Primary Responsibilities:
- Researches, writes and produces original news and feature content and programming as assigned for use in broadcast and digital media platforms.
- Responsibilities include gathering information, conducting interviews, writing scripts and presenting the stories live or as part of recorded radio, television or digital audio/video packages. Conducts and writes up interviews for inclusion in his/her assigned stories.
- Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned.
- Versions content produced in the Korean language into English for distribution, as assigned. Fluency in Korean is mandatory and a requirement for the position.
- Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media coverage and segments as assigned
- Voices material for/during broadcasts as assigned, including material prepared by others
- Contributes to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, covering breaking news, events and or feature stories.
- Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned
- Participates in the creation and development of regularly scheduled or special radio and/or tv programs and/or web and social media sections, as assigned
- Voices material for/during broadcasts as assigned, including material prepared by others
- Contributes finished products meeting standards to production elements of programs and content for broadcast and/or web and social media, including fine editing of taped material, as assigned
- Performs technical functions including operation of equipment, as assigned
- Contributes to teamwork, facilitating tasks of teammates, as needed
- Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines
- Serves as videographer/reporter, as assigned
- Serves as anchor/program host as assigned
- Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements
- Works independently or as a member of a team
- Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area, plus the ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned
- Has specialized knowledge including formal education in a field desired by VOA, regularly demonstrating that added ability through the performance of his/her duties
- Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with VOAs digital asset management system
- Other related duties as assigned
