What are the responsibilities and job description for the Box Truck Driver/Warehouse Assistant - Salem, NH position at United Staging & Rigging?
As a USR Driver, your primary objective is to execute on-time deliveries/pickups, with a secondary role performing daily warehouse activities as assigned.
This job is in live events, so it requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. You will often engage with clients and venue security, so a calm, friendly demeanor and professionalism are required.
You must be able to drive a 24' box truck in downtown Boston, on highways, and throughout New England roads. You do not need a CDL for this role.
Knowledge of our gear and industry is a bonus but not required. We can teach you on the job.
Duties will include:
- Maintain clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Perform general warehouse help as needed when not driving
- Maintain cleanliness of trucks, general inspection reports, and driver’s logs
- Available to make deliveries & pickups on short notice
- Available to work late nights, early mornings, and weekends as assigned
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks and customer vehicles
- Maintain accurate pick list paperwork, including missing items and non-USR equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Educational Requirements:
- Ability to operate a 24’ Box truck or CDL
- Ability to obtain DOT Health card
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
- Be of good character, good work ethic, and a self-starter
- Ability to receive direction from management and work well with staff
Bonus Skills:
- Proficiency operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment
- Knowledge of the entertainment/live events/staging and rigging industry and gear
Standard warehouse hours are Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch.
Driving times outside of these hours will be required (early mornings, late and overnights, and weekends/holidays)
