Paraprofessional - Special Education - Non-public SchoolUnited Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry is representing a well-established, non-public school in their search for Paraprofessionals. The school serves exclusively special education students from Kindergarten-12th grade in a full-year/12-month program. The Paraprofessional role is a direct hire/permanent position beginning immediately.Location: Roosevelt Island, NY (between Queens and Manhattan, easily accessed by the F/M train, bus or tram)Salary: $27,000-$28,548 annually ($17.30-$18.30/hour) depending on experienceSchedule: M-F 8am-2:30pm (30-hour work week, 6 hours/day)Responsibilities for the Paraprofessional:Implementing daily instruction, activities, and behavior strategiesSupporting student in their school activitiesProviding 1:1 support to school-age children with health/emotional special needs for the classroom settingWorking closely with school staff and familiesEnsuring student safety during school hoursRequirements for the Paraprofessional:Associate’s Degree or higher is preferredA NYS Paraprofessional Certificate is a plus, not a mustAt least 1 year of previous experience working with special needs children in a special education settingExperience with children with developmental disabilities and other related disorders preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to provide 3 professional work related referencesThis is an excellent opportunity to assist students 1:1 and grow your classroom experience.
