Elementary Special Education Teacher

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER – ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, prestigious Manhattan private school who is seeking an experienced Elementary School Special Education Teacher to teach 3rd or 5th grade.

Salary - $70,000-$85,000 DOE

 Excellent benefits package – Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K

Hours – Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.

Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:

·       Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data

·       Supervise a 1:1 classroom and 2:1 instructors in the classroom

·       Monitor and analyze each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills

·       Responsible for academic and behavior analytic assessments

·       Work with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team

Requirements for the Special Education Teacher:

·       Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field

·       Minimum of 3 years previous teaching experience in a special education setting

·       Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty

·       NYS Certification in Special Education

·       NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education  

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Must be able to provide 3 employment references
