Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solar Roof Lead with current manufacturer certifications, especially Enphase and Tesla, to join our team in the growing solar industry. The ideal candidate will have many years of experience installing solar on all residential roof types and have experience leading solar crews.
We install a variety of inverter systems including Enphase, Tesla, and SolarEdge. While it is not required for the technician to be familiar with all systems, the more experience, the better!
Duties
- Work with team to install new solar systems and system additions.
- Supervise the team to make sure all jobs are installed correctly.
- Work with team each morning to make sure all material is correctly packed out, ready and loaded before leaving warehouse.
- Works efficiently in the mornings to get out of the warehouse quickly and to the job site.
- Communicate all job site challenges and concerns with team and Production Operations Manager when needed.
- Check all bins and material in van to make sure you have what you need for the day.
- Be responsible for your safety and the overall job site safety at all times.
- Be able to safely and efficiently transport materials and tools up and down a ladder.
- Complete Job Site Safety Checklists for each job.
- Be responsible for making sure you are using safety equipment on job site.
- Act and speak with professionalism on job sites and in vehicles.
- Must keep work van clean inside and out to make sure crews can work safely and efficiently.
- Stay up to date with all building and NEC codes.
- Maintain all necessary manufacturer certifications.
- Understand all aspects of solar system installations and related electrical work.
- Willing and ready to assist with battery installations and system services.
- Makes recommendations for improving job site safety, flow and efficiency.
- Communicate to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.
- Document and complete all battery installations.
- Fully complete installation each day with proper photos and records taken.
- Participate in all safety meetings and lead safety meetings when necessary.
- Review plans and site photos before going on site.
- Document all work completed on job sites, this includes new work done to pass final inspections or repairs done during service visits.
- Check in at the end of every day to relay what work was completed and turn in all paperwork.
- Commission systems once installation is completed.
Qualifications
- Years of experience with current solar inverter and racking systems.
- Understand aspects of electrical systems.
- Understand how to commission and power on systems.
- Experience safely transporting materials and tools up and down a ladder.
- Familiarity with solar battery systems is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with solar car chargers preferred but not required.
- Active Enphase certificates required.
- Be able to run and bend conduit; run wiring; install ground equipment.
- Understand all aspects of roof and ground mounted solar installations.
- Customer service experience and high communication skills required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate collaboration across teams.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills.
- OSHA 10 Required.
- Solar certifications Required.
