Position SummaryThe Student Services Coordinator leads and strengthens student-centered systems across the USI network, with primary responsibility for developing and implementing a network-wide family engagement strategy that builds trust, strengthens communication, expands literacy access, and promotes long-term enrollment stability and improved attendance.This role ensures schools are equipped with effective systems, community partnerships, and funding streams that remove barriers to student success. In addition to student and family engagement work, the Coordinator supports long-term sustainability through strategic grant development and collaboration on staff pipeline partnerships that reinforce enrollment strength and workforce continuity.The ideal candidate is highly organized, relationship-driven, data-informed, and deeply committed to advancing equitable access to high-quality educational opportunities for all students and families.Key Responsibilities1. Family Engagement & Literacy Access Design and implement a comprehensive, network-wide family engagement strategy aligned to student success and enrollment stability.Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, early childhood providers, literacy-focused nonprofits, libraries, and neighborhood groups to expand literacy access for families.Coordinate family literacy initiatives such as parent workshops, reading nights, take-home literacy kits, and community-based learning events.Develop systems to increase family participation in school events, academic goal-setting, and attendance improvement efforts.Ensure culturally responsive and inclusive engagement practices across all schools.Identify and remove barriers that limit family access to academic resources (e.g., language access, transportation, digital tools).Track participation and measure the impact of family engagement initiatives on attendance, enrollment retention, and student outcomes.2. Student Recruitment, Enrollment & RetentionDevelop and execute annual recruitment strategies aligned to network enrollment targets.Establish sustainable enrollment pipelines through early childhood partnerships, community outreach, and neighborhood engagement.Coordinate open houses, tours, outreach campaigns, and community recruitment events.Monitor enrollment data, application pipelines, and conversion metrics; provide weekly updates to leadership.Support families throughout the enrollment process with responsive communication and high-quality service.Collaborate with school leaders to strengthen retention systems and reduce attrition.3. Attendance Monitoring & Student PersistenceAnalyze attendance data across the network to identify trends and chronic absenteeism risks.Partner with school-based teams to implement tiered attendance intervention strategies.Maintain attendance dashboards and communicate trends and action steps to leaders.Support proactive family outreach efforts to address attendance barriers.Coordinate schoolwide attendance campaigns and recognition systems.Ensure compliance with state and network attendance reporting requirements.4. Grant Writing, Reporting & Funding SustainabilityResearch and pursue federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities aligned to student services and literacy expansion.Lead the development and submission of high-quality grant proposals.Collaborate with school and network leaders to gather data and align proposals with strategic priorities.Maintain grant calendars, reporting timelines, and compliance documentation.Track awarded funds and ensure alignment between grant goals and implementation.5. Staff Pipeline & Workforce Sustainability (Supporting Function)Collaborate with HR and school leadership to support sustainable teacher and staff recruitment pipelines.Cultivate partnerships with educator preparation programs and workforce development organizations.Support participation in recruitment events and outreach initiatives.Align workforce planning efforts with projected enrollment growth and student needs.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in education, communications, public administration, or related field.Experience working in schools, nonprofits, or community-based organizations.Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with families and community stakeholders.Strong writing skills, including experience with grant writing or reporting.Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform strategy and decision-making.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and relationship-building skills.Proficiency in Google Workspace and student information systems.PreferredMasters degree or higher in related fields Administrative leadership experience in K–8 or charter school environments, as principal or executive levelFamiliarity with PowerSchool or similar SIS platforms.Experience leading initiatives at scale, project managementData that serves as evidence of prior success in leadership rolesKnowledge of local community resources and education partners.Work Environment & ScheduleFull-time, 12-month position.Primarily based at the network office with frequent travel to school sites and community events.Occasional evening or weekend hours required for family engagement events, recruitment activities, or community outreach.Core CompetenciesRelationship-Oriented LeadershipStrategic Planning & Systems ThinkingData-Driven Decision-MakingProject Management & OrganizationClear and Professional Communication
