Job Title: Production Scheduler

Summary: The Production Scheduler supports the execution of the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process specifically the MPS process cycle, by converting the approved demand and supply plan into executable production line and/or pick-and-pack schedules.

This role ensures that daily and weekly schedules are achievable, material-ready, and aligned with capacity and staffing plans to meet on-time delivery, cost, and inventory objectives.

Working under the direction of the SIOP Leader and/or the SC Director, the MPS Production Scheduler coordinates with Procurement, Operations, and Logistics to maintain stable flow, accurate master data, and consistent adherence to planning standards. The role is hands-on, detail-driven, and central to ensuring that what is planned in SIOP is successfully executed on the shop or fulfillment floor.

Responsibilities: As the production scheduler for the region, you will:

  • Translate the SIOP plan into weekly and daily MPS schedules for assigned production lines and/or pick-and-pack operations.
  • Balance customer demand, material availability, and line capacity to create executable production plans.
  • Communicate schedule requirements to Team Leaders and Group Leaders, ensuring readiness and clarity of priorities.
  • Support the MPS optimization meetings and the MPS commitment meetings for your product line and or/pick and pack area by identifying capacity or material constraints and coordinating recovery actions with the SIOP Leader.
  • Ensure schedules reflect planned maintenance, new product introductions, and staffing availability.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and real-time execution, escalating variances that threaten customer delivery or efficiency.
  • Maintain visibility on WIP, material flow, and completed units to validate plan vs. actual.
  • Adjust sequencing and loading of production or packaging tasks to minimize downtime and optimize throughput.
  • Capture daily performance feedback for input into SIOP and continuous improvement routines.
  • Maintain accurate master data (routings, lead times, capacities) within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Participate in Lean and PDCA problem-solving sessions to address recurring scheduling or capacity issues.
  • Support visual management and KPI tracking boards to update schedule health and progress.
  • Contribute to simplification and automation initiatives that improve scheduling accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Logistics to confirm inbound material readiness.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Engineering for build changes or new program introductions.
  • Communicate with Production Leaders regarding schedule risks and mitigation plans.
  • Provide accurate short-term capacity and inventory data for SIOP review meetings.

You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, or Business (or equivalent experience).
  • APICS CPIM or other professional certification preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in production scheduling, materials planning, or manufacturing coordination.
  • You are a decision maker that can professionally articulate thought processes.
  • Able to manage competing priorities without losing control of the schedule.
  • You connect planning, production, and supply teams through clear communication.
  • Able to address bottlenecks and adapt quickly when demand or supply changes.
  • Eager to deepen your understanding of SIOP, capacity planning, and Lean operations.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and basic understanding of SIOP principles.
  • Proficient mathematics and analytic skills
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Excel or planning-systems
  • Familiarity with Lean or continuous improvement tools.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
