Accounts Payable Supervisor

The Central Administration department plays a vital role in United Road’s financial stability. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will supervise the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable team. This role will monitor payment accuracy, supplier relations, and ensure quality service is provided to exemplify care and commitment to our suppliers and carrier partner bases.  Job DutiesDirect the duties of the staff and supervision of the Accounts Payable departmentTrains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work productDocument performance issues and make recommendations for personnel actionsSupervises account payable functions including maintenance of general ledger, ACH transactions, check disbursements, 1099 vendor set up and tax related matters; ensures accuracy and timelinessProvide assistance to suppliers, employees, and carriers regarding payment issues; respond to payment inquiries as they arise to build and maintain positive supplier/carrier relationshipsProcess/reconcile accounts to ensure accurate general ledger codingAudit payables for accuracyProvide weekly reporting to track volumes, statusMaintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations to meet company demands and expectations Skills RequiredEffective leadership skillsStrong customer service orientationAbility to solve problems and think quickly under pressureEffective oral and written communication skillsHighly organized and detail oriented; ability to follow processesDemonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet deadlinesProficiency in web-based accounting programsProficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook QualificationsKnowledge of: Accounts Payable and invoice processingProficiency in ACH, NetSuite, OVISS, and TMTTwo years of accounts payable experience requiredOne year of team leader or supervisory experience preferredHigh School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferredCompany DescriptionUnited Road is the most diversified finished vehicle logistics provider in North America.
