Summary of Essential Functions
•
Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, minor repairs and coaching and directing team efforts.
Educational Requirements
•
High school diploma or equivalent required.
•
Associate level degree in maintenance or electrical technology preferred.
•
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
•
Must have excellent work ethic, strong customer service skills and willingness to serve, works well in a team environment and be self-motivated.
•
Takes pride in quality and quantity of work accomplished
•
Possess good learning skills.
•
Demonstrates basic knowledge in, but not limited to: HVAC, basic construction, basic electrical, door hardware / keying, basic plumbing, controls and instrumentation, boiler maintenance, automated valve systems, chiller maintenance, air compressor maintenance, building automation system and pump/motor maintenance.
•
Must be willing to alter schedule when needed.
Physical Requirements
•
Be able to push, pull or lift at least 50 pounds
•
Be able to bend, kneel, stoop or stretch frequently
•
Must be able to work effectively in confined or elevated work spaces
•
Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity with substantial movement of wrist and/or fingers.
•
Walking and climbing to accomplish tasks.

Extended periods of sitting and/or walking depending on specific duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
•
Willing to assist others when asked and on a voluntary basis.
•
Assist in the training of all maintenance personnel or plant operators for required tasks on all shifts.
•
In the absence of direct supervision, has the ability and knowledge to make decisions, is productive and sets a good example reflective on the department.
•
Ensures that work is of the highest quality with attention to detail. Assignments are completed first time.
•
Corrective work orders are completed in a timely manner. 95% of preventive work orders completed during assigned period.
•
Assist in maintaining adequate levels of supplies and parts. Appropriately order necessary stock for proper functioning of building maintenance or plant operations.
•
Monitor and document in-coming water quality; chemically adjust as necessary.
•
Respond to building climate changes – maintain the highest air quality possible.
•
Has a complete understanding and complies with all United Regional Infection Control, Safety, and Departmental policies.
•
Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary.
