Position Summary

As an Independent Insurance Agent at UPIC, you will represent the agency (and its carrier partnerships) to sell and service personal and commercial insurance policies. You will consult with clients to assess their needs, compare options from various insurers, bind coverage, and provide ongoing support. This role offers flexibility, commission-based earning potential, and the opportunity to build and own your book of business in a supportive agency environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect and generate leads for new business through networking, referrals, marketing, and community involvement.
• Consult with clients (individuals, families, and businesses) to understand their insurance needs and risks.
• Compare and present quotes from multiple insurance carriers to recommend the best coverage at competitive rates.
• Sell and bind policies for auto, home, renters, life, business/commercial, umbrella, and other lines.
• Maintain accurate records, comply with state regulations, and stay current on insurance products, rates, and industry changes.
• Build long-term client relationships to generate referrals and cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements

• Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license in Ohio (or willingness/ability to obtain one quickly; UPIC may support licensing for qualified candidates).
• Previous experience in insurance sales, customer service, or a related field is advantageous but not always required—motivated beginners are welcome.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and explain complex coverage options clearly.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset (ideal for independent producer structure).
• Proficiency with agency management software, quoting tools, and basic office technology.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client meetings or networking.
