What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auction Clerk - Part time position at UNITED PRODUCERS, INC?
United Producers, Inc. (UPI) is one of the nation’s largest livestock marketing cooperatives. We are currently looking for a PART-TIME Auction Clerk to work at our Salem and Shelbyville livestock auction facilities Tuesdays and Thursdays ONLY, approximately 8am - 5pm
Must meet the following requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency using computers
- Ability to troubleshoot basic computer issues
- Knowledge of livestock preferred
Responsibilities include:
- Entering livestock tag number, description, price and buyer information into the computer system accurately during the auction.
- Enter seller information as needed.
- Ensure that computers and TVs are working properly prior to the sale.
- Troubleshoot any computer issues during the sale, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired experience and requirements:
- Proficiency using computers and prior data entry experience with high efficiency.
- Excellent Communication, Listening skills and Customer Service skills.
- Prior experience working with livestock (cattle, sheep, hogs) is preferred.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
